New Forest District CouncilThe action is set to be explosive when Totton Health and Leisure opens its doors for a special event on November 5.

People of all ages are invited to visit the popular centre, in Water Lane, Totton, for a fun-packed open day and charity fundraiser, from 9am to 4pm.

Join the Zumbathon party – a three hour dance spectacular featuring the centre’s most energetic instructors, with all proceeds going to Cancer Research UK.

There will be something for all the family, with a free fun swim and swimming lessons, free trampoline and Gym Tots tasters, a free bouncy castle for the youngsters and massage on offer for adults.

Fitness classes will be running throughout the day to give visitors an opportunity to try something new, along with a rowing challenge.

Visitors will have the opportunity to view the refurbished and extended gym, new spin studio, refurbished pool and changing area and enter a fabulous raffle and have the chance of winning a six month Fitness Direct membership for the centre.

In addition, a special membership offer on the day will give 12 months for the price of 10.

All New Forest District Council Health and Leisure centres are running a Fit for Christmas promotion, from November 1 to ecember 6, for just £39. This will give unlimited use of the gym, pool, sauna and steam and group exercise classes, as well as a free gym induction and a Wellness Key personal fitness programme.

Applemore Health and Leisure is also fundraising for Cancer Reseach UK with a ‘No Shave November’ for staff members and any other volunteers!

Beards and moustaches will be grown and groomed throughout the month by fundraising participants and all donations will benefit Cancer Research.

New Forest District Council portfolio holder for health and leisure, Cllr Di Brooks said: “I hope as many people as possible will visit Totton Health and Leisure on November 5 to see for themselves the wonderful facilities and activities on offer.

As the winter months set in, New Forest Health and Leisure offers people of all ages a great focus for keeping fit and active while having some fun.

“Please support the fundraising activities too as all funds raised will benefit a great cause in Cancer Research UK.”
